Storytelling via playful imaginings with words and visuals.

2020

It's been a crazy year, so far, and I wanted to send you lots of love and light - stay safe.

Meanwhile, during this quiet time, I'm working on book two, and hoping to publish in winter this year.

Big love,

New Cover Design for 2019

Book Excerpt
Hi everyone, my apologies for not posting on the blog more often. I will be posting at least once a month from now on. Yay! I hope you all had an amazing New Year. Wow! Halfway through January already! Incredible.

I'm re-vamping the website, trying to make it less cluttered and using links/buttons to pages/topics rather than having an never-ending stream. Don't worry, I've kept the old pages, as below for example.
Story Doorways
  • Fictional Places
  • Book Characters
  • Folklore & Myths
  • Places in Books
  • Readers Photos, art, ink
  • Book Compendium (bible)
  • Book Creation
  • Book Series Research

Extra Writing Components:
  • A Carpet of Purple Flowers - Original Beginning
  • A Carpet of Purple Flowers - Original Ending
  • A Carpet of Purple Flowers - Landlord's Daughter
  • A Carpet of Purple Flowers - Doughnuts

...and a little special gift:
  • Awake in Purple Dreams - Chance Prologue
  • Awake in Purple Dreams - Karian Prologue
Have a little nose around, I'm still in the process of moving things around, but the navigation will remain the same.

Awake in Purple Dreams ~ January 2017 ~ Update

Posted by Tracey Mccartney on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 Under: Awake in Purple Dreams ~ Book Two
A big 'Hi' to all of you wonderful souls.
Thank you so much for joining me here.

Guess what?
I've only just discovered that blogging was an available option on this website. Yup, I'm so excited. It means that I can share regular updates and little snippets of creative stuff with you more directly. Yay!

Okay, first, I want to wish you all a magical 2017. I can't believe we're nearly hitting February already! Time flies.
Second, 'Awake in Purple Dreams' is coming along nicely. I have beta readers lined up for initial feedback and I'm really looking forward to their reactions on plot twists and drama. Positive or negative, every piece of feedback is incredibly valuable. Once received, I can revise and then approve revision by a professional editor. This will take a few months, but if all goes well, time permitting, I'm hoping for a late summer release.

The cover has been completed and designed to compliment book one. There will be a reveal a month or so prior to publication. I will announce here first.

There are a few new wonderful characters which are introduced in book two, and of course, you will have more from your favourites. A couple have been quite unruly in their desire to shine, I've had to reign them in, but it's been great fun seeing how these characters get excited about their stories developing further. :o)

Book two is the middle part of the 'overall' story, and as we know, every story has a beginning, middle, and end, right? I see the series as one whole divided into parts.
1. A Carpet of Purple Flowers - Beginning (Bea's story - present)
2. Awake in Purple Dreams - Middle (Bea's story - present)
3. Shining Sword - End (Brooke's story - future)
3. The Purple Book of Menteith - (past)

Initially, book three was only going to be concerning the past, but the story grew even bigger and the future wanted to be told. For the record, both book 3's can be read straight after no.2, as the past or future can visited, like a circle where you choose the course, forward or back in time.

If you follow my social sites, you'll know that in November I completed NanoWrimo, developing book three (the future) Shining Sword. There is still quite a bit of work to be done but the first draft is almost complete. This means that once book two is published I can finish the manuscript and revise. It would be wonderful if this could be done in time for a Christmas release, but realistically, it will be 2018. You can visit the page HERE

Let me say a super big thank you for the amazing support and love you've given on this journey. I really appreciate everything, from reading 'A Carpet of Purple Flowers', leaving reviews, to all the lovely emails, they uplift my spirit and help push me forward. Thank you. ((((( <3 )))))
