A Wandering Soul

A Poem

Crossing the veil between worlds…

A light bright
a loud cry in the night
makes way for a soul in the dark
gliding through time
a passage ethereal sublime
a story forgotten renewed

mingling the past into the future
a haze blinding most
glamour hides a host
the spiritual warrior has eyes to see
but not until he falls to his knees

the figure in shadow feels the heart of the broken
crushing love not forgotten
gripping mist
chasing dreams
karma eludes or so it seems

circles and cycles
souls entwined
something at work
possibly divine

ROSE-TINTED GLASSES

A Poem

London Town

Streets noisy but silent

bobby doesn’t beat, officers sleep

plastic bag an urban tumbleweed

a flower grows through the cracked pavement

pretty walls adorned, a distraction

reflected in a drunks puddle

give me a fag, got a spare pound,

nothing humble about this town

sirens replace screams

window curtains twitch

but still…

the sun comes out

lawns are mowed

trees bear fruit

flowers are on the table

typing letters forming words

a mish-mash of thoughts on the screen

most will never be seen

a sigh

a sip of tea

a drag on a fag

it isn’t so bad

ponders life while staring up at the sky

a tear drops from the eye

Haiku

"Haiku" is a traditional form of Japanese poetry. Haiku poems consist of 3 lines. The first and last lines of a Haiku have 5 syllables and the middle line has 7 syllables. The lines rarely rhyme.

I heard a whisper

as ancient as life itself

carried on the wind

Windows to the soul

he fell into her blue eyes

magic behind cosmic glass

Words of Byron bound

a flower found in a book

her heart skips a beat
Rain on my window

distorting my view outside

the sky is crying
People of the mounds

enchanted knowledge of past

let me remember
Glitter from the sky

my hand reaches out to you

fingers play with light
Wear a starry crown

glisten in the sun and moon

leave a stardust trail
Place your hand in mine

let me feel the warmth of touch

it has been too long
I drink my coffee

scribble words that come to mind

by a window seat
Colour matters not

the skin is but soul's temple

bright light knows no shade

Head pressed on his chest

she hears the ticking of time

only bodies age

His voice is like silk

it brushes against my skin

but I miss velvet
Oracle foretold

a prophecy of twin souls

the crow and the deer
She catches sunlight

and stores it away inside

for those rainy days
Don't pick the flower

let it bend towards the sun

so beauty can last
A ruin in the woodlands

built by hands so long ago

I can hear your voice
Trees with crystal roots

bringing light to everyone

drink enchanted dew
A purple flower

visited me in a dream

fragrance stole my soul
Hey, sensitive soul

in a crazy busy world

take five minutes out
Am I a writer?

my hand writes the visuals

that my heart receives
Write what's important

I mean really important

I hope that it's love
